Lighting is an art and a science. At Marcel Dion Lighting Design Inc., we bring together these two elements by using our background in design and technical lighting knowledge.
Our design philosophy is to provide a comprehensive lighting design that reflects and complements the vision of the client, architects, interior designer, and/or landscape architect. A background in interior design enables us to communicate and explore the design process required for high level design environments. Working knowledge of architectural construction, materials, and details provides us with the tools to integrate lighting within these elements.
What We Do
We provide a full range of lighting design services: from interior to exterior, commercial to residential, and from schematic to construction. We design with economically sensible, sustainable, and high quality and performance lighting equipment that are incorporated seamlessly into the design and suitable to the project’s need.
Additionally, we utilize our knowledge of the latest technologies, and techniques which further enhances and strengthen each project. As a result, we strive on research and testing of all potential lighting products, along with continuing education at domestic and international trade shows and educational conferences so that we can be at the forefront on trends and issues pertaining to the lighting industry.
Who is Marcel Dion?
Founder and Principal Lighting Designer, Marcel Dion is an award-winning lighting designer with extensive experience and a passion for global design and technology.
A graduate of Algonquin College’s Interior Design program, he possesses the unique ability to collaborate with the design team, interpret architectural intent, and craft creative solutions through the fusion of technological nuance and design sensibility. Marcel is a Professional International Association of Lighting Designer (IALD) member, a Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) and LEED Accredited Professional fully engaged in the lighting community.
Since establishing Marcel Dion Lighting Design in 2010, Marcel has received numerous accolades including IES Awards of Merit and Section Awards for the Entourage Yacht, Brookfield Place Allen Lambert Galleria / Sam Pollock Square, and Bridge 13, Welland.
Be it retail, residential, hospitality, commercial, entertainment, structure or landscape design, Marcel’s 18 years of international experience translate into strategic lighting solutions that punctuate clients’ vision for the built environment.
